Secondary Earthquake through Social Media The Level of Stress in University Students Experiencing Review

The aim of this study is to examine the level of stress in university students who experienced the earthquake secondarily through social media. The study group consisted of a total of 293 university students, 213 females (72.7%) and 80 males (27.3%) between the ages of 18-26. The data of the study were collected with "Personal Information Form" and "Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale for Social Media Users". Data analysis was performed using SPSS software; t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to examine the differences between variables. According to the results of the research, secondary traumatic stress shows significant differences in terms of gender, city of residence and duration of social media use; it does not differ according to the social media platform used. The results obtained were discussed within the framework of the relevant literature and recommendations were presented on the psychological effects of social media use.
